Pros

  • Good capacity
  • Lightweight
  • Water resistant zippers
  • The luggage had no damage after we dropped it
  • Good wheel performance and maneuverability
  • Handle felt comfortable and sturdy

The Heys Orion received high performance scores both in the lab and from consumer testers. Although we struggled with the zipper a bit during packing tests, and the luggage itself didn’t resist scratches as well as some others, it still had good scores overall for ease of use and durability. It is expandable and features 360º wheels, top and side handles for easy lifting and lowering, and a built-in TSA lock.

How We Tested: The Good Housekeeping Institute Textiles Lab tested each piece of luggage for weight, scratch and water resistance, and durability when dropped on all sides. We also evaluated the suitcases for how easy they were to open, close, and pack, and how many items they held. Finally, a panel of consumer testers carried and wheeled each suitcase packed with 10 pounds of weight over hard and soft floors, around corners, and up curbs to assess maneuverability, wheel performance, and handle comfort and sturdiness.
